On the 19th of December 2024, the Rockcliff Rugby Club played host to the much-anticipated Blackadders Bake Off, following an exhilarating evening of social touch rugby. With the competition heating up in the kitchen just as much as it had on the pitch, the event proved to be a highlight of the season.
Last year’s reigning champion, Simon, returned to defend his crown, bringing an impressive selection of savory bakes to the table. With over eight entries in total, the judges and tasters were spoiled for choice, making it one of the most competitive bake-offs to date.In a nail-biting finale, it was Sully who claimed victory this year with his festive Holly Jolly Blondies. The delicious treat earned him the top spot by a single vote, highlighting just how close the competition was.
Beyond the fun and festive spirit, the event served a greater purpose: raising funds for the Blackadders’ chosen charity of the year, North of Tyne Mountain Rescue. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, a fantastic £70 was raised to support the vital work of this incredible organization.
Congratulations to Sully for his well-deserved win, and a huge thank you to all participants, supporters, and bakers who made the event such a success. Here’s to an even bigger and better bake-off in 2025!
